Not my cup of tea Ed - no clear direction to them and I am not enamoured with the colour balancing either....what do you see in them as, of course, each to his own when it comes to art?
interesting; a bit like Monet (but after going completely blind) but with pretentious titles.
not my sort of thing sorry ed, and the colours are too strong

In short... exactly what you dislike :)

I like gentle abstraction. My tastes in art start at later Turner and move out from there. I've got a soft spot for stuff like this.

I didn't read the titles!
Now later Turner, Impressionism, post Impression, post Hague school, yes.....agree with you on. This I find jars on the visuals.....pretentious titles I can live with....
and you have just reminded me of a brilliant art joke for the jokes page.....
I quite like the fourth one on the slideshow but i'm generally not a fan of that kind of art. Especially when it looks like you could have created it yourself.
Well I like them!

erin-x - Off you go then, knock me out a few!

D97x7 - glad someone does :)

Would anyone be up for a "who is your favourite unheard of artist?" thread?
Got a few etchings here, Ed.....somewhere in the back pages of Art is a thread with some of my work.....
I saw these in a gallery on a recent trip:

I liked them a lot.
"night reflections" (about 13 pictures in) is especially nice.
I would quite happily Ed but i'm not forking out for the canvas lol. I should have taken my place at art college. I could have been the unknown artist! :-)
Well, I think they're beautiful! I could live with them, but it might be hard to fit them in with much of our furnishings.

There's a Persian artist whose work is a bit similar.
I like third from left and last one but only because of the colours, I don't really like abstract stuff.
This is a local artist who has held a couple of exhibitions where I work. Only wish i could afford to buy any

They don't instantly grab me. I think you would need a very large room to display one of those in your house.
