a difficult, but interesting question.
i have never thought that i belong to any particular class. having said that, i would not want to be called upper class - as that conjures up images of large houses and multiple cars in the drive.
working class would also be in-accurate as i that also depicts an image that of living that is not pertinent to me.
i am well educated, (not college or university however),and consider myself something of an intellectual - and well spoken. but i do live in a small one bedroom flat, work hard for low pay and only just survive.
one could say there are elements of both classes in the above passage.
