When I was about 9 or 10, I used to enjoy the sci-fi novels of Nicholas Fisk, can anyone else remember this children's author?

I remember reading a book of his... I think it was called 'Grinny' and was about an old lady who was really an alien robot-type-thingy... there was a sequel called 'You remember me' (hope I'm thinking of the right author, lol!) They were pretty good books if I remember rightly.
Yes, he is or was a very good writer of intelligent science fiction for children. I read the afformentioned Grinny and You Remember Me with enjoyment even though I must have been quite a bit older than you when I did. You are never too old for a well written story IMO.

Yes, Grinny was a bit creepy; the image of the robo-gran lying with eyes wide open at night, transmitting data to her alien controllers...

Also, "Trillions" (Sentient Lego), "TimeTrap"(time travel in dystopian future), and "Wheelie in the Stars" (Two lads living on the moon restore an old Triumph.Brrm!)

I read them about twenty years ago and still remember them, they were quite thoughtful for childrens' books...

I vaguely recall something about time travel using anti-aging pills - I never quite understood how that was meant to work...
