although i like the feel of books and opening one up gives a lot of pleasure i am thinking of buying a kindle for use whilst travelling or on holiday. what make, kind, etc would any of you recommend? tia.
lol, we are all chatting about Kindles etc on another thread. I personally have a basic Kindle which was bought for me a year and a half ago and I love it.
Lady J, my daughter bought me a kindle as a Christmas gift last year and I love it! Because of the arthritis I have trouble holding books and papers etc but I can manage to hold onto the kindle quite well (though I have dropped it a couple of times) For one thing the books are slightly cheaper to buy on kindle and they don't take up any more space upon my limited bookshelves, and I can carry it it in my handbag any time I'm going out I could be biased against other e-readers though...
I have a kindle which I have found invaluable when visiting family. I read a great deal. Now I can load up some books before departure at very reasonable prices and now am able to put clothes in my suitcase instead of books. It is also very useful if I am ill and cannot get to the library (a bus journey away) or if the weather is too awful to even get to the local charity shop ( 15 minutes walk) to buy paperbacks.
Mine is a basic kindle (including light) and is fine if your main objective is to choose, buy and read books. It does other things which I do not really need.
apologies as i did not realise that this subject was already being discussed on another thread.
many thanks chris for your info.
many thanks to you all and maybe i should just get myself a basic one. as i said i only want one for travelling and on holiday and this would certainly cut down on my luggage weight.
