Does anyone have an idea about who the author was of a fictional work about the life of Christ. I read this book back in the 1960's and thought it was by Norah lofts but I've ploughed through all her titles and it doesn't seem to be hers. I am sure it was a female author with a similarly short name. Help

Done a search for you, could it be How far to Bethlehem, that was by Norah Lofts and seems to fit ???

H "The Winner". Thats what I thought initially, until I reread it recently. That is about the nativity story and ends with the birth of the baby. Excellent book but not the one I was remembering. Thanks anyway. I've also posted a query on Abebooks so hopefully someone will come up with the one I'm looking for.

Not sure but try; Annie Besant

Hi Baldric - tried but doesn't seem to be the author of the type of fictional work I'm looking for. thanks though.
Not judas my brother by frank yerby
"God so loved the world" by Elizabeth Goudge? Not fiction but written in a narrative way as though it was. ( If that makes sense!) Published 1951 or thereabouts.
Did Dorothy Sayers write one? A children's book maybe?
"The man born to be king" by Dorothy Sayers?

Thanks for all suggestions so far. I think the Frank Yerby one could be correct. I did read a lot of his stuff back then. I shall have to get hold of a copy and have a read. It sounds interesting whether it's the one I remember or not. Thanks again.
