kids boarding school book

i remember reading a book when i was younger about a boarding school where the pupils formed a sort of council that did all the disciplining. they all pooled their money and pocket money was dished out fairly. something like that. does anybody know the name and/or author of this book?

Was it "The naughtiest girl" (or something like that) if it is there was a few in the series

I'm sure this was from the Mallory Towers books by Enid Blyton.  I think I still have them in the attic!!

It was Whyteleafe School in the Naughtiest Girl books by Enid Blyton.

Naughtiest Girl Series: Enid Blyton 1st one published in1973, Enid wrote the 1st 4 in the collection and the others were the work of Anne Digby.

They are about a young girl called Elizabeth Allen who started out spoilt and selfish, but learnt to be nice and good... (true Enid Blyton style!)

I remember the 1st few books so well - I read them and read them and read them till the covers dropped off!  I always thought that the naughtiest girl was never really that naughty and I had done a lot worse! She always ended up doing something really good and I could never understand why she got the reputation as a bad kid.
