Gerry the Giraffe

Does anyone remember a book or tape of this story? He was just too tall and kept getting tangled in washing lines etc. Very much like the ugly duckling, except heavily giraffe-based. I'm trying to remember who it was by and what the piece of music that played in the background was. Any ideas anyone (incidentally, it was NOT about a Giraffe who learned to danc... that's the wrong Gerry altogether...)
