Just wondering if any of you guys had the exact publication dates of Rhys': After leaving Mr Mackenzie, Good Morning, Midnight and Voyage in the Dark. There is so much variation on the net that it is causing me to doubt myself. Thank you!!

Sorry Crazychick,

I cannot help you with Publication Dates, but have you read "Wide Sargasso Sea"? It's very good.

Question Author

Very good book, However, I personally believe her earlier works are more inspirational! Maybe because of the autobiographical context I find it more personal and therefore more enjoyable to read.

All her works are very good though x

Hi again Crazychick,

I do agree about WSS,I believe it was her 1st book after not writing for about 30?years,so obviously the more youthful books were better;but I still feel she is a badly neglected author.

Absolutely love her. Have to agree that Wide Sargasso Sea is not my favourite. She is one of those authors who appear as revelations to young women when they first discover her, methinks. Put in the context of the time she was writing in, she was definately ahead of her time.

Quartet was 1928 but under the title 'Postures'

Midnight was 1939.

Can't remember the other 2 off the top of my head - should all be on the title page of any edition regardless of when that edition was published though.
