"Of course the location is important to what you choose to read."

I have never in my life ever heard someone choose what to read based on the geography of where they'll be reading it unless it was a map or local guide. The best thing you can read would probably be the crime figures in the area you're staying in so you can know what to watch out for.
Nor have I, Kramer - what I read on holiday bears no relationship to where I'm going.
Maybe admarlow likes to get a real feel of where he's staying by reading a book about that place but then you'd be reading about the place instead of exploring and enjoying the holiday. Personally if it wasn't a spontaneous holiday i'd do my research prior to my flight and go and just enjoy the holiday but different strokes for different folks i suppose.
If I were visiting the area around Mount Fuji I just might have a yen to read "The Snows of Kilimanjaro".
''Of course the location is important to what you choose to read. ''

Disagree with that statement but anyway:

The Queen of PatPong by Timothy Hallinan (the 4th in a series so you might want to read the earlier books first but they standalone):

I don't see why the location is important to what you read. ?Take and read all Tom Sharpe books - you'll laugh your head off from cover to cover
Tom Sharpe was very funny.
