HI ALL, my 92yr old mother started this poem from her childhood and can't remember it all. I'd love to get it for her. Any directions would be greatly appreciated - have tried googling it but no joy. It starts "One night as I lay slumbering in Philadelphia town". Charlie 'Jake' Mullan (my spelling) was from Northern Ireland. Many thanks in advance. My birthday today so would love a nice surprise. x

"Charlie 'Jake'" isn't the name of the author. It's part of the title of a song called 'Charlie Jack's Dream', by an unknown writer, collected by Sam Henry and published in 1939 . The words and music are here:
