I'm old enough to remember when big developments in TV shows etc were genuine surprises and didn't get endless pre-coverage. I think it's partly that there are now so many ways of information sharing, everything has to be put out there to fill this void. I tend to manage avoiding the sources of most spoilers, and certainly rarely read reviews (which often give stuff away).
