Title of book?

I remember reading a book a few year ago which I can't remember the title of. The story I beleive was true or based on a true story. From what I remember a family went on holiday to Eygpt and when they returned paranormal activity began happening. There was a point in the book I think where the son became nasty(out of character for him) and painted his bedroom blood red and wasn't sleeping well at night well at night, then i think he moved out to live with other relatives and instantly returned to 'normal' I think his father beleived he had been possessed. I also remember that they would get very high electricity bills every month tho they beleived they weren't using this much. Then i think at the end of the book something happens and the woman starts seeing  spirits in her kitchen passing over. I know the book go's much deeper and darker that this but this is all i can remember.Does anyone know which book im talking about and what the title is?i'd really like to read it again
