Scottish Comedian

While at a recent comedy show, we recalled a Scottish comedian we saw in Coventry in the late 1990s (I think), whose act involved assembling people from the audience to act in little comedy routines. He has long straggly hair a bit like early Russ Noble and has been a hit in Edinburgh Festival. However, we are unable to recall his name and have not seen anything of his since? Any ideas?
