Most of the time they are exactly the same as the published copy, though they occasionally contain few extra typos and I seem to recall reading one where the ending in the published novel was edited somewhat differently.
Most are clearly marked as not to be resold, so unless what you are buying is a collectable (they are sometimes signed/numbered) or very cheap I'd be a bit wary.
