I have just quickly counted. I have over 900 physical books. Complete waste of space. I did get rid of a load last time I moved house, but it crept up again.
Just had a quick, rough count and it's just over a thousand. I had no idea it was so many. If I'd had to guess I would have said about 500. There are some I'm planning to get rid of soon, though.
My spare bedroom is chocablock full of novels. My bedroom has our treasured children's books (mine, my wife's and our children's). The bookcase in my living room has dictionaries, thesaurus and other reference books, the kitchen bookcase has cookbooks and light reference and the cupboard under the stairs has books for sorting.
I'm not counting them for anyone.
maybe a couple of thousand. A lot of them are photo books of one sort or another, something I think books still do better than the internet. (It's difficult to even find the illustration you want online, let alone a good one.) I'm more or less at saturation point, but the local charity shops don't seem to be taking books at the moment.
At the last count, just over 3000. A friend has nearly 4000 and over a thousand of those on horticulture but she does write for gardening magazines. I knew a millionaire years ago and onvisiting his house he invited me into the library.
Expecting to be impressed with wall to wall first editions I was shocked to see his library consisted of six books sitting on his desk. He did have some good paintings on the walls though.
I know, Sharon. I think I must have overloaded them recently. Fortunately there is a pop-up "library" at the station where you can leave books that other commuters can take with them and read.
There's one really, really simple answer to having too many books in your house. It's called the Public Library. Don't buy them, borrow them. And you won't have to dust them, either.
About 1000 but as they were taking over my rather modest bungalow I got a Kindle. It's not the same but things couldn't continue as they were. I have a Kindle library of 885 books...
