What a coincidence. I finished "The Lie Tree" yesterday.
When I started it, I had no idea it was fantasy, which I really really dislike. I did not enjoy this story, which I could not make head or tail of. I suppose it was meant to be symbolic, but couldn't make head or tail of it. If it had not been for the fact that it is to be our next Reading-Group title, I'd have thrown it away as soon as I realised it was fantasy.

Not my genre at all either but it is a popular book.

Won the Costa Prize last year and I remember her being interviewed.Talented no doubt and a bit eccentric.
