Name of Thriller please

I read this about ten years ago, but can't remember tha name. A girl librarian finds a clue relating to a book in the library. She finds the book and there is a dare in it, with a monetary reward. Every time she completes the dare, she gets another more dangerous task. Any help appreciated.
