Nothing new there then :-)
We will never win again but its not to do with Brexit.
well it's not actually a song contest anyway.
We always get badly scored anyway, all the eastern Europeans vote for each other, they all vote for their best friends and not the best singer which is what we do.

Dave.
ZZZZZZZZ
Brexit is nothing to do with it, but with or without tactical voting I don't think we have much chance. I heard our song on the radio yesterday. Chronic!
re the opening question the debatable phrase 'there's no such thing as bad publicity' springs to mind

Would You Want To Be This Years Uk Singer For The Eurovision Contest?

No, there's plenty of people that think I'm a *** as it is ... singing in the Eurovision song contest would only confirm that accusation.
To be fair, Talbot, I believe you do put a lot of effort in it.
Lucie Jones is a very good singer and it's quite a nice song (tho it sort of peters out rather oddly) but it won't win probably as there are 25 other songs too and no reason why the UK should necessarily comem out on top just because we want it to.
Naff all to do with Brexit. Typical Daily Wail nonsense.
In 2003 we allegedly got nul points because of the Iraq war and not at all because of a shambolic out-of key performance.

My money is on Blanche - City Lights. With the "pop"/"op" Croatian an outside bet :-)

I have always suspected some countries vote us low because they have never considered us European.

Sorry to send you to sleep Mickey, you dont have to read and respond though, it's not mandatory.
It's because our songs are usually anodyne and unforgettable!
It's probably true that people think we don't take it as seriously as we should, especially when Britain has such a great musical tradition.
But I very much doubt it that would be a factor if there was actually a strong entry: "wow, I really liked that, but hang on, Brexit!, maybe not"
I don't think so.
Last year Russia won the popular vote, and that country isn't exactly the personification of the European dream. And those perennial Europeans Australia came second overall (!!!)
To actually answer the question, if I was the UK contestant not only would we get nul points but they'd probably have to pull the show ...

I do have to concede we put forward some real rubbish.
Who cares we never get any points anyway.

On the plus side we won't have to pay the lions share to put it on :)
I would rather have my testicles gnawed off by squirrels personally.

But everybody to their own, I suppose

I shall be pleased if tonight's winner is not some completely unconvincing transvestite, with a beard !
Mikey: lock those pesky squirrels away, best and safest leather pants on (leaving nothing to chance), sit back and enjoy TV heaven :-)

Agreed, if squirrels gnawing your nuts is your thing then go ferret.
Oops I meant ...
