It's just been announced that he's died at the age of 91.
His first book, The Ginger Man, was his best. Have you read it?

It's a very good comic novel and well worth reading.

I read most of his books. My favourite was The Beastly Beatitudes of Balthazar B.

I did reading it about 40 years ago, but gave up. Perhas its time to try again.

I read several of his books in my late teens. The Ginger Man, Beastly Beatitudes, The Onion Eaters and A Singular Man. They were rather erm.....'racy'!

RIP, J.P.D. A hugely talented man.
