Are there any fool proof FREE book sites online for reading FREE of charge? I want to read Stephen king but the sites I have nearly signed up to don't have his novels? Taking up reading after many years of not so don't know where to begin...dont have a kindle btw would be on tablet and phone

No, I'm not trying to be funny and simply suggesting seeking out good old-fashioned print publications in a physical library. Most libraries now offer eBooks as well. e.g. here in Suffolk:

I agree about trying the local library site for online reading. Or in perosn and charity shops for real books at little or no cost. Or there's this one.....

If a book is in copyright, you can't expect it always to be free to read somewhere. The reason writers publish is to sell books and make money. There are many thousands of books on the internet which have gone out of copyright, when their authors have been dead for 70 years. ( Dates may vary in different countries).
