does anyone know a book, about a stone mason . he worked on churches and cathedrals .1100 -1400. It is fiction ,and i think his name was tom or jack.

Yes, that came immediately to mind.
Was in the town of Vitoria-Gasteiz a few months ago, and did a tour of the cathedral that Ken Follett based his book on.
There is a life sized bronze statue of him outside the cathedral. Fascinating place.

do not think this is the book i mean .but i have ordered it .looking forward to reading it.in this book ,do they make plaster slates to draw diagrams on for the masons.
