I find the whole Handmaid’s Tale thing slightly odd:
There was the book, then a series, then 2 more series that went way beyond the book.
Now a sequel to the book (presumably not based on the extra tv programmes).
If I remember, the first book jumps ahead in time at the end in a “what happened much later” coda. So this will be a sort of prequel to that ;-)

The second book will be set 15 years after The first ends and will be called Testaments (well at this stage it is) so assume it is about either the trials of the commanders in a ‘war crimes’ sort of thing or more stories from the Handmaids.
