My nan had a picture on her wall. In the 1970's.

I think the picture was very popular at the time, I'm sure I've seen it on walls, in old tv programmes

Dark haired lady, hair style like Rita Hayworth, red flower behind ear and a white v neck jumper on, she looked Mediterranean. It could have been a Spanish holiday souvenir.

I've spent hours searching, it's not Lynch, Tretchkioff, but of that era.

Anyone any ideas? I'd love to know what the picture was called and I'd love to get a copy...

There was an oriental looking one that was popular.
See if it the Chinese girl by Tretchicoff (excuse the spelling). I am sure my mum had it on the wall.
actually google turns up several pics of continental ladies in the 70s with roses in their hair.
sorry - not sure how to post a pic here!
I can only remember the not very nice 'Green Lady'
nah - no flower / no v-neck white jumper.
I'm sure I know the one you mean and thought it was by Lynch.
If that's right, Cider's gonna get lynch

No, it's none of them, she may not have been Spanish, but she had black dark hair, wavy over her shoulders and she had her left arm on her hip. I've spoken with all my family and they all remember it, but I can't for the life of me, find it. I have deffo seen it, on tv, on someone's wall, like a old tv drama... I seem to think it was a popular household picture in the day....
I believe I can picture it in my mind's eye. Carmen Miranda lookalike keeps bugging me.The sort of portrait I would expect to see in Tooting Market.
...or Boots.
Did you perchance see it on a wall in a soap series. Hilda Ogden had good taste when it came to Art. :-)
Oh yes, her lovely Muriel and flying ducks :-)
Wiv artwork like that in your parlour,'The world's your Lobster' :-)

@ Retrocop. Yes a bit like Miranda, without the fruit.

The closest i can find is a picture called 'ilonka' by H Walter, which may have been based on Maria Felix, but that picture is not as smooth a brush stroke/portrait as the one I'm trying to find,.....arrrrrrrrrgh
This one ticks some of your boxes.
