Of his contemporaries, only Braque during the Cubist period, and Matisse - as evidenced in the recent Tate exhibition - had much influence, though he toyed with Surrealism during the 30s. But Picasso was certainly inspired by many Old Masters - especially Goya, Velazquez, Rubens and Manet - of whose works he painted many versions. Also, he drew heavily on Greek Classical and African "primitive" sculpture both for his subjects and aspects of his style.
