anyone knw when this might be released? or any guesses?

I reckon that I'm quite good at googling (which is probably the only thing that I am good at!) but I can't find any hint of a publication date anywhere, including on Sir Philip's own website, that of his publisher or on sites like Amazon, Waterstones and Foyles (which offer pre-order facilities for book with known publication dates).

The next book from PP to hit the shelves will be The Imagination Chamber on 28 April, which runs alongside the His Dark Materials trilogy. If he was concentrating on writing that up until recently, he might not have had that much time to work on the third volume of The Book of Dust.

However he seemed to be some way into the work in May of last year, when he was interviewed by Michael Rosen at Goldsmith's College. He provided a very brief excerpt from the book, which can be read here:
