Heathcliff is picked up by Mr Earnshaw in which city in the novel Wuthering Heights?



I understand that the two 'houses' are in the Yorkshire moors, but need to find the name of the city please

Yes it was Liverpool, the idea being (in my opinion) that since he was "a dirty, raggeed child" and he was "speaking a strange gibberish" language when Mr Earnshaw found him, he was probably the child/orphan of Irish immigrants, since the book was written at about the time that a lot of Irish came over to England
