'Wonderwoman' As Known By A 6 Yr-Old

Bear with me here, please.
8 or 9 months ago, under pressure from my writing group. I used our small, nondescript terrier as the main character in a story for children (6 - 8 yr-olds). Laking Tyke is his name and the resulting story has been very popular with local children of the right age. A second story also hit the right note.
One of these children, a little girl, 'M', has had pains in her leg and a very recent visit to A&E revealed on X-ray a 'cyst' or 'tumour' in her tibia - about 3" long and almost through the bone. She had gone to A&E in her 'Wonderwoman' costume and they were brilliant - gave her a 'Wonderwoman' coloured cast to prevent the leg from breaking, a gold zimmer-frame and bandaged her teddy.
She will be going to Birmingham at the beginning of next week - and t.b.h. the prognosis is not good - she will probably lose her leg below the knee.
I am trying to write a 'Laking Tyke meets Wonderwoman M' story to accompany her, but am drawing a blank on what a modern child's idea of Wonderwoman is.
The new film seems far too harsh for a little girl, but M's costume seems to involve a floaty skirt and not the starry knicker-shorts of the TV version with which I am familiar.
Any help please with what she should look like and the powers ascribed - I have an idea for a story, but don't want to get the detail wrong.

perhaps make her as feminine as possible or at least close as possible to the character of M and her little nuances - and all kids have them in their personality mix......and then the story could focus on how the transformation and confidence took place in beating the illness/disability.

Thanks DTC. I think the one I have in mind should be a booster, right now, a simple story to entertain - but you are right and there could well be a follow-up along the lines you suggest.

it is the sort of message that a child can understand - wonder woman can have a bad leg so it is okay for me to have one.

I'd not thought about the poorly leg for this story, but it's a good idea. I suppose I could then always write a follow-up (if she does lose it) about Tyke meeting her again and this time her leg is bionic! He could always try biting it (with her encouragement) and hurt his teeth.

I'm worn out, my head aches and so do my eyes, but Mr. J2 is now printing off a couple of copies of 'Laking Tyke Meets Wonderwoman' and I'll be able to get a copy to 'M's' mum tomorrow.
At 1,375 words it should entertain her for a while and there are 2 rhymes M can learn (Tyke is prone to writing doggerel).
In the end Tyke meets not only Wonderwoman, but also Mini-Wonderwoman M and surprise, surprise they both have poorly legs and both rescue Tyke from a fix.
I don't care what time it is - I'm off to pour a glass of wine!

I think the term died with my parents generation, Jourdain, but I still remember people saying 'why don't you go lake outside' when I was a kid.
