We need to talk about Kevin

Can anyone recommend a book in a similar vein to this? Or does anyone have anything to say about it? I've just finished it and was almost in tears, which is saying something. Very moving book, I'd definately recommend it to anyone. Chilling too, so many little details and twists that were just enough to remind you it was fiction although based on tragically real events.

As a mother of young daughters, I'm very much in the nurture rather than nature camp and couldn't empathise with Eva and wanted to hear Franklin's voice because I didn't trust her narrative.
I also think the characterizations were a bit weak, particularly the daughter, who seemed to be a victim and nothing else.
I'd recommend it, but like Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy, I would warn people not to expect to bond favourably with characters you would rather slap.
