I'm not sure if I'm in the correct category here, if not would someone point me in the right direction please?

I would like to know if the following description is a traditional design.

It's a mug with handle, cream with dark brown glaze, sort of bulbous bottom half and inverted conical top half. The bottom is encircled by a line of cream circles with two parallel cream lines above and below and the top has chequered brown rectangles in two lines.

I would say not.
It sounds quite modern to me and when i mean modern i mean post war.
The colour way makes me think its 1950's and the geometric design also makes me think that but the shape makes it sound a bit later. Late 60's poss 70's.
Is there not a makers mark on the base.?
Is the glaze quite rough (in application not in texture)? If it is that would but it in the 60's /70's.
To answer your question i would not call it a traditional design but it is very difficult to say without seeing it so dont quote me on anything.
