Can anyone recommend a Dutch language course that I can do over the internet? I've tried searching on Google, but all I come up with are text book references. I'd ideally like something interactive. Any help very gratefully recieved!

You'll need an actual dictionary to learn any language. The basics are here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/other/quickfix/dutch.shtml

You can copy and then translate Dutch passages here:

http://babelfish.altavista.com/

Pimsleur offer an extensive audio package which I've seen on Emule or you can buy it direct from their site.

Try www.therosettastone.com

Try: http://www.byki.com/FLSIndPage.pl?Lang=udu1&OVRAW=dutch%20online%20translations&OVKEY=online%20dutch&OVMTC=advanced

Or online course from Hull Uni at http://ucl.ac.uk/dutch/student_resources/studypacks.html#

The above link needs to have the # added to make it work, so make sure you type that in as well to the address bar.

On that page, scroll down to the Lagelands Online Dutch course, and click the link to Online Dutch course in Lageands1. Register for the course, and then its 'let oop, dremels!' all the way!!

Hi

Just let you know that the best way to learn a language is to practice, wat a good thing is to do read a lot of dutch publications, do not mix up Netherlands dutch and Belgian dutch. even if they are writen in the same way many words mean a different thing. An other thing is that you could try to contact a pen friend in Holland or in belgium and try on this way to learn, sometime it is much easier, being a Belgiam myself and living in Scotland I know how difficult it could be to learn an other language. try the follow news paper link.

I hope this will help you in the future, O just another thing, the dutch language has lot of common with English or german. If you like my wifeand myself will be pleased for further help we are both fluent in Dutch. Our Eamil adress is [email protected].
