I see England, I see France

Last week I saw an old episode of Moonlighting. the name of the episode was I see England, I see France, I see Maddie's netherworld. It immediately struck me as probably being a paraphrase, so I searched for that phrase barring the netherworld-part, and got tons of hits. I gather it's a 'teasing rhyme' (if that be the term) and that the last part of it would normally be I see (name)'s underpants. But even that sounds like a paraphrase to me, as if the origin was oh I don't know - a Churchill speech or something... "I see England, I see France, united in ..." etcetera. (Just fantasizing.)

Does anyone know anything about the origin - or if the rhyme is the origin.

Thanks in advance and for now, more personal thanks sometime next week.

Bon Voyage to jno, tomorrow. Although I'm not sure if you actually said cruise or if I made the ship up myself... Be that as it may, I hope your son the design guru is going with you, or he'll go to town on the chandeliers while you're gone and when you come home and open the door to the bathroom...

I live in fear, Kit, but my package is booked

omg, here's a place I won't be going soon... it sounds as if it's overrun by hip young people...

Good afternnon biddy friends What a lovely day.
Hope you are all ok. Have a great trip Jno
Kit my date is Teabag. The one before Christmas. He makes me laugh so that's a good start but I'm happy with being just friends if you know what I mean or is that too much info. Lol. He has a very busy life, taching piano and playing the piano and church organ etc. and he has a lot of friends he sees including me now and again. I'm going to see him play in a big band next week. I liked the big band sound when I was a young woman.

Hi Shaney that does sound like a bad butler problem. Sorry to hear it, why can't we all just get reset or re-installed or debugged or what's-it's-face. Hope you've got a nice doctor, and a good one (and that they're the same person!)
Bon Voyage jno have a lovely time, and see you back on the Biddythread wherever and whenever that may be. Toot the foghorm if you are coming passed Ibiza and I'll wave back!!
Oh shaney old girl, I felt like that a couple of years ago. When I walked down the road I veered to the right, it was awful and I'd have to grab Mr N and say "Here I go again", it was awful, was sent for all kinds of tests but nothing was found, and then lo and behold (a bit biblical I know!) it disappeared and am fine now.

Shaney and Neti, sounds like it might be BPPV, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo? My eldest half-sister suffers from dizziness so I always pay attention when they say something hopeful about dizziness on the telly or in the papers, and BPPV is as far as I've heard curable - when it doesn't disappear all by itself.

Symptoms of BPPV include dizziness, vertigo and nausea. Generally, symptoms are bought on when the position of the head changes, for example when you get out of bed. Typically, the symptoms of BPPV do get better over time.

BPPV causes dizziness because small crystals have collected in the inner ear. The crystals are from a structure in the ear which has been damaged or worn with age.

Good luck for tomorrow, Shaney!
It could be Labyrinthitis. My sister has it at the moment and she just veers off and has to stand still until she feels 'level' again the Dr. said it would go eventually. And she can't get up quickly out of bed has to do it in stages very slowly. Thought that might help the diagnosis!!

Of course, I was convinced that I had a brain tumour, but then it was pointed that I needed a brain for that!!!!
morning dudes...is there anybody out there?
horoscope says my my far-sightedness is impressive...haha... well not first thing it wasn't, you could barely see your bazooms in front of you...<oh dear, I never can>...anyway, it was thick I tell ye, thick. There seems to a bloomin' flock of sh1tehawks circling round - well as soon as this clears I'll be directing them straight back from whence they came!

Sorry you're not so steady shaney...as I may have mentioned a time or 10 I suffer with dizziness too, whatever it is. Hold on tight, I hope it settles down soon.
sorry you're having email probs ...I couldn't send a pm, it wouldn't send!
