I don't know if any still exist now, but why not start your own by asking friends to suggest likely friends, and each write a letter each month to add to it, or enclose theatre programmes of shows you've seen, or postcards from holidays you've had. Also people could suggest topics they want to discuss. That way it would grow. A mix of men and women would be good, giving each other's views, it really could become quite lively as people got to 'know' each other through the correspondence.
Good luck with it.
