Wind turbines as a source of energy (for or against) ? Supermarkets causing independent retailers to close down (or not) ? Deporting, or not, foreign criminals ? Hippopotamuses and polar bears (allegedly) dying out because of human intervention ? Clubbing seals for fur ? All these have been in the news recently and should be easy enough to research information on.
Best of luck
As a teacher can I give you the following tips.
1. Buy a newspaper like the daily mail or the independent and see if anything annoys you.
2. If not look in a local newsppaper and see if there are anythings happening locally which people are annoyed about, some suggestions such as traffic wardens and wind farms might be good ones.
3. Write out your ideas as if it was an essay, set out as a beginning what you are actually protesting about, give people some brief background, not everyone may have heard of it. Then develop some ideas or other ways of dealing with it, finally summing up your argument.
4. When you come to getting the sppeech ready if you can print it in a large plain font as its easier to read and give a copy to your teacher. Look at everyone, encourage them to vote by show of hands and enjoy it.
