Story about a fish that saw the world

I read a short story about 5-10 years ago about a fish that swam everywhere in the ocean, hot seas, cold seas, etc and saw everything there was to see and thought he had seen the whole world. In the end I think he was caught and the fisherman ate the fish "that had seen the whole world". A bit of a parable on life really.

Can anyone tell me who wrote it or a link or any info at all.
