They live in 'The Hundred Acre Woods', a location possibly based on the Ashdown Forest in Sussex.

100-acre wood is definitely based on part of Ashdown Forest in Sussex. Milne and his son lived nearby. You can go and play Poohsticks at the real bridge, but there aren't many sticks to be found as a result of the number of people who visit. the original toys are in the USA (New York library, I think - it was in the papers a few years ago).
