I saw a very insightful programme probably a few months ago which followed Dr Seracini as he discovered some amazing things about some of Da Vincis' paintings. I was intreagued when he was looking into the wall of the 500 in the Palazzo Vecchio and may have discovered Da Vincis' earlier painting of the battle of Anghiari. And how that tiny little flag in the wall of the 500 had written 'cerca trova' (appologies for my spelling) which mean't 'seek and you shall find'. I know he encountered many problems actually trying to discover wheather or not the battle of anghiari was underneath, but does anyone know if he ever managed to find it or even get permission to look further? Thanks
