Can't recall the title of a book that was out a few months ago

Its about a women who is on an field expedition in the Antartic and then there is some sort of epidemic or something. There is an underlying story about the dead and ghosts and the fact the only remain on the Earth when someone remembers them. I believe the word "dead" or "death" are in the title and it came out in late April/early May in hardback. I think it may have had a blue cover but i'm not sure. I read the review for it in Metro arounf that time but can't recall its title.

It is called A Brief History Of The Dead by Kevin Brockmeier. I thought it was a great concept but actually the execution was poor and I didn't rate the book very highly once I'd finished.
