I need lots of books for my last year at uni and cannot afford to buy them all new. I decided to try to buy them online cheaper, but the postage cost for each one puts the price up so high! Does anyone know of any good websites that sell used books but also have cheap of free postage and packaging? Thanks

Try www.green metropolis.com

Its a recycling internet bookshop. Cheap, easy to use, gives 5p for every book sold to tree palnting schemes, has a wide range of books and you can put stuff on a wish list if you've got specific requirements.
I use

http://www.abebooks.co.uk/

for all my second hand books.
Never been disappointed yet!

Unfortunately, with Amazon, if you choose the used books in the market place (which are very often real bargains) the 15 rule for free postage doesn't apply, and you do end up spending much more on postage than you do on the actual books. Having said that, the service is sometimes better than buying mail order from a large company.
I agree- Amazon marketplace is really good- I have had books delivered in less than 24 hours-perfect condition and half the price of new (including postage).
Have you tried your department's notice board - surely some of last year's students will be selling theirs?
