I've only recently begun to read some martin amis stuff, and the first i read was the information, which i was very taken with. i've recently read yellow dog and am current reading money. i'm (lightheartedly) concerned that he's a bit of a t..sser, and feel morally obliged to ceaseenjoying his splendid writing. what do other people say?
Read his excellent autobiography/memoirs "Experience", great stuff, you'll see him in a different light. I've heard him accused of snobbery, misogyny, and racism, when really, he has it in for everybody in his fiction.
I found I enjoyed his writing a lot with some powerful scenes and themes. The one unsatisfying part of his work that I only really recognised when I read a review of one of his books was the inability to give his characters feelings and identifiable personalities.
