Has anyone read The Historian. If so what's it like. Just bought it and wanted to know what you lot thought.

I've just started it and I'm finding it a bit slow going. I'll plod on though because everyone seems to praise it.

Dead turgid. Don't bother. It's not very often that I give up on a book, but this one just wasn't worth the effort, quite honestly.

Boring?! I thought this book was excellent, but that may be because it was the first non-uni book I read after I finished my last essay, which was on Dracula, so I was in that frame of mind!

I do agree it took a while to get going but it certainly picks up speed. I thought the attention to detail was excellent.
