In my childhood during the 80's, i used to love reading a book called Danny Fox or Danny The Fox... he was a bit of a trickster and was always getting in trouble with the local fisher man... eventually, he helps the fisherman meet a princess and they get married... problem is, I can't remember the author and I would really love to buy it again....despite being 30! It may be an American author, but no idea. Please note that it is NOT to be confused with Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox!!! X

Try the author Richard Thompson ?
I remember those books! There were loads of them if I remember correctly! I used to read them during my reading time at school and I think I might have had a crush on Danny even though he was a fox and I was only about 81
By 81 I meant 8!. Ooops!
I remember Danny Fox too - he was cool. Not sure if his books are still around here somewhere. I will look and report back later
