Hi all, I've read the book and went back and forth because of the intricate timeline and everything... loved it. But, kinda baffled with what chapter III "Chatres Northern France" was all about.
It's the one about a ceremony whereby a guy dies at the end of it. What relevance does it have to the flow of the story? And if possible, can anyone tell me who was the guy who perished at the hands of the priestess? Or is he just 'someone'?

hi bollie,
Well, I kinda scanned through the first quarter of the book, only to find out that every little chapter is connected to the whole story. So it was like a back and forth, back and forth journey for me throughout the book and it was a breath of fresh air in terms of book reading.
Ya I was wondering if it was just to show that the secret society is still alive and kicking but not knowing who the people were is like an itch that you just can't reach, you know? You can't help but love the characters. They grow onto you.

Basically it shows how ruthless the high priestess is. The event obviously took place in the room which was found by the lover of the priestess later in the book - which he later spoke of to Alice.
The book also speaks of a body being found dumped in the river which I assumed was the guy who was killed in this scene.
Hope this makes some sense!
