I don't know about the artists, but there is evidence that their models were plied with laudanum on a regular basis.

Elizabeth Siddell was a British artist's model, poet and artist who was painted and drawn extensively by artists and she was addicted to laudamun which led to her death of an overdose.
She was also Rossetti's wife who was also addicted to drugs towards the end of his life.
