Fane ??

my mum knows the first few words to this poem that I think she was tought at school in the 1930's. its called "the river colne" the first bit is

" I know a rippling streamlet in sight of Alban's fane"

firstly does anyone know how I can find the rest of the poem ? and secondly, what on earth is a " Fane" !? thanks.

A fane is a flag or a weathervane from the Old English fana.
or ..a temple ..this is according to Chambers Dictionary .

never thought of simply looking it up in a dictionary !
