I have seen this so many times now and it is so annoying ..not annoying that you post it but annoying that I cannot for the life of me think what is is !! And ..it sounds so familiar.My first thoughts were Lionel in "As Time Goes By" but his name is Pargetter. This may be a long shot but Adrian Mole springs to mind.Pandora ....Adrians erstwhile love did all sorts of things to annoy him . And it sounds just like the sort of thing he would say in the book.They did do a TV series of Adrian Mole . Might be worth checking out.

I know your post says book character, but previous posts have said tv character and as she is not a person per se but a character or persona who has also written books about her she might qualify for both

I have been doing Phil's quizzes for a while now with little success as they are very challenging. Still they keep me occupied.
