Novels about discrimination

I'm looking for novels that tackle discrimination, be it racial, age or sex. Anyone suggest some goods titles?

To Kill a Mockingbird is a popular one.

James Baldwin, the American Author has some great ones, as does Carson McCullers (also American) who wrote "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter". Hope this helps.

For something a bit less predictable, try Lives of the Monster Dogs by Kirsten Bakis - a stunning debut novel about a group of dogs that have evolved (with the help of a visionary scientist) hidden away in the mountains - they walk on two legs, can talk, and wear clothes - but are forced to come down and mix with the human community due to an illness wiping them out. The novel deals with how human react against another species/race, and can be interpreted on all sorts of levels - but it's also a beautiful fable about being 'different'. It has stayed with me for many years since reading and re-reading it.

'Noughts and Crosses' by Malorie Blackman, it's a young adults' book but considers what might happen in the future as regards discrimination.
