Have you read SKs 'Desperation'? that is one of my favourites.

I haven't but I will now.....Thanks.
Try 'Salem's Lot' and 'Christine' by the same writer - both fantastic - I really envy you being able to read them for the first time.
I'm a real Stephen King fan.
I agree with Pippa68, Desperation is brilliant!

andy-hughes - I know what you mean, even though I've read a lot of his books more than once, it's not the same as the first time!
I love the following SK books:

The Dark Half
The Shining
Firestarter
Misery
Needful Things
pet sematary ,thinner, IT,Geralds Game, green mile,
Watch the tv series of the stand & rose red they are great!!!
I think The Stand is probably his best book, I really enjoyed It and the Shining too. James Herbert's The Fog is sort of similar, although not quite as good but still worth a read.
Moving away from SK, Robert R McCammon's "Swan Song" covers very similar ground.
SK's "The Green Mile" is also pretty good - as was the film of the book (with Tom Hanks).
I like the Bachman books, these are short story's Stephen King Wrote under a pseudonym. There brilliant..
