Does anyone know what the words "kindlein, Ade!" mean please?

babelfish doesnt know what ade is-I did A-level and dont think I came across that word. Not herad of kindlein either, child something I guess but bablefish's answer 'child flax' doesn't make much sense to me!

"Farewell, child", basically, in fairly old German.

The suffix -lein indicates a diminutive, so it's more accurately 'small child'. Ade is an old German form of Adieu.

"Goodbye, babe" doesn't quite render the original with stylistic accuracy, compared with "Child, adieu" does it?? Be very wary of translation websites...
