Lord of the rings?what about pern?

I know this should be in the film and tv section but hey.we are about to witness the end of LOTR now what about the dragons of pern?i'd love to see them made into a film as they have facinated me for years does anyone else feel the same?

TW don't get your kilt in a knot! what i meant was what with all the technology and CGI used in LOTR it would be a shame to waste and what about the producers starting work on something like the dragons of pern i know there by anne mcaffrey im reading the latest red star rising book and was pondering how they would make into a film there is something like ten books alltogether.

If it's any help they are going to film 'The Hobbit' and there is a dragon in that.

This was prepped as a TV seriies a few years back. it got as far as production design, but the guys with the money wanted it to be "Buffy with dragons" and (somewhat amazingly) the people who owned the rights to the show told them where to go, so the show collapsed.
