Can anyone give me info on Edward Star.I have a enamel on copper plate marked "Original for Gumps of San Francisco. Gumps just say he had a studio in Sausalito and that he was popular in the 60s-70s. In anticipation.

Hi. Apart from your own query, little appears to come up in Google of this question.....Might expect to see something more or a website....

I too am in possesion of one. I too have not found any information on it. Mine is orange and brown. Good luck with your search and please repost with your find
I ran on to your post trying to research the same question! I know that Edwards "Star" Originals (I put Star in quotes because all I have had to go on the star is always a 5 point star) is the name of the company, they were based in California and that they were active during the 1950s and 1960s - maybe longer but I can't say for sure just when they ceased to exist.
I know thar Originals contracted with exclusive department stores such as Gumps, Horchow and Georg Jensen making special Edward Star Original plates and or bowls in colors or designs exclusive to that particular retailer and that those pieces are stamped with that retailer's name.
I find it beyond strange that there is so little information out there about such a widely collected item that seems to enjoy a relatively high value on various auction sites.
If you learn more, please post and I will do the same. My best resource for information regarding subjects such as this was my mother who had a photographic memory and literally proved a better resource than the Internet for an incredible range of subjects. I miss that woman everyday!
